Gaumont has been one of the main European production companies since 1895.
These last 3 years, it has sped up its activity, releasing films like "The Science of Sleep" by Michel Gondry, "36, quai des Orfèvres" by Olivier Marchal, "OSS 117, Cairo, Nest of Spies" by Michel Hazanavicius, "The Valet" ("La Doublure") by Francis Veber, the upcoming "Cashback" by Sean Ellis and "Seeds of Death" ("Pars Vite et reviens tard") by Régis Wargnier...It handles the release and the International selling of 10 to 12 French and English speaking films a year, whether produced internally, coproduced or acquired.
Gaumont holds a vast film library (more than 900 titles), which includes the works of famous directors such as Jean-Jacques Beineix, Luc Besson, Matthieu Kassovitz, Federico Fellini or Francis Veber. Gaumont has led these renowned filmmakers to the top of the international box-office: "The Closet" ("Le placard"), "Joan of Arc" ("Jeanne d'Arc"), "Crimson Rivers" ("Les rivières pourpres"), "The Fifth Element" ("Le 5ème élément")... Gaumont is also one of the main shareholders of Europalaces, which gathers Gaumont and Pathé theaters.
