Synopsis
Victor (Jean-Louis Trintignant), a renowned filmmaker, has started work on a film adaptation of Chekhov’s play The Three Sisters. The project is in fact a pretext so that Victor can patch things up with Julie (Delphine Seyrig), his ex-wife, an actress whom he still loves. The ensemble includes Cécilia (Lea Massari), a conscientious Italian actress, and Esther (Valérie Mairesse), a more carefree debutante who soon manages to exasperate Julie.
