Synopsis
The same day, 480 miles apart, two cops are handed two unusual investigations.
Niémans, a man experienced in and possessing an infallible instinct when it comes to criminal matters, but who masks painful, obsessive fears, heads for Guernon, a university town in the Alps, where a grisly murder has taken place.
Max Kerkérian, young, sharp, solitary, a former car thief who joined the police force because of his love night and danger, is carrying out an investigation at Sarzac into the desecration of the tomb of a child who died in 1982. Soon, both investigations will link up.
The murders multiply. Truth will surpass every hypothesis and lead the two policemen to high altitudes, up to the portals of death and ice.
