2000 was a truly record-breaking year: 61 French films and coproductions
were released in American theaters (31 French films and 30 coproductions).
This represents an augmentation of 100% compared with the 90s, when an
average of 31 French films and coproductions were released each year. Up
until today, 59 French films and 11 coproductions are already planned for
2001 and the beginning of 2002. 11 French films are currently screening in
American theaters: "Harry Is Here to Help", "The Closet", "Himalaya", "The Widow
of Saint Pierre", "Under the Sand", "The Crimson Rivers", "Rape Me", "Funny Felix",
"Vertical Ray of the Sun", "Lumumba" and "Come Undone".
