The second edition of the Mercado del Cine Francés, a film market initiated by UniFrance and devoted to French films, will take place in Miami from March 5 to 7, and officially opened at a cocktail reception held on the evening of March 4. 22 sales agents representing French films will take part in the event along with over 30 distributors from Latin American countries.
After the event's first edition last year delivered on all of its expectations, the Mercado del Cine Francés, an initiative that was devised to support French sales companies and distributors throughout Latin America, will be renewed in 2017, and once again held as part of the Miami International Film Festival.
Latin America remains one of the key export territories for the theatrical release of French films, and this film market aims to strengthen connections between international sales companies and local distributors who are actively involved in releasing French films.
Last year, around forty movie industry professionals took part in the film market. They will be back in Miami this year, in even greater numbers. This big turnout at the event demonstrates that the interest shown by distributors in releasing French films in Latin America is stronger than ever.
