With The French Comedy Club, Other Angle Pictures offers four recent comedies to US professionals and the public
Specialized in comedies for the past ten years, the international sales company Other Angle Pictures has created The French Comedy Club in order to present French comedies to industry professionals and the general public in the USA at special one-off events. The first session was held on April 2 and 3, 2022, in Los Angeles.
The sales company behind two films that have each generated over 50 million views on Netflix (Spoiled Brats and The Last Mercenary), as well as many other titles that have been adapted into international remakes, Olivier Albou and Laurence Schonberg, CEOs of Other Angle Pictures, work on the premise that comedies are hardly ever shown at festivals and rarely gain distribution in the USA outside streaming platforms.
Hence their decision to hold a presentation in early April for industry professionals and the general public in Los Angeles of four highly successful French comedies of recent months, with the aim of generating business deals around French comedies in general. The films presented are sold by a variety of sales companies:
- Retirement Home by Thomas Gilou (Other Angle Pictures)
- Superwho? by Philippe Lacheau (TF1 Studio)
- Christmas with the Tuche by Olivier Baroux (Pathé Films)
- The Wannabes by Jonathan Barré (Gaumont)
This operation benefits from the support of Unifrance.
