French artists and exporters will have a strong presence at the 10th French Film Festival in Yokohama, organized by Unifrance, as well as at the film market preceding it. A second market will take place in Seoul for the first time.
Twelve features and a delegation of thirteen artists, along with twenty-five sales companies, will be present at the Festival du film français au Japon, organized to take place from June 26 through 29 in Tokyo.
It is worth noting that, parallel to the festival, UniFrance films is organizing a film market between French exporters and Japanese distributors. On Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June, all the French exporters, being twenty sales companies, will be present in Tokyo. From June 8 on, Gaumont, STUDIOCANAL, EuropaCorp, Goodfellas, Pyramide International, Le Pacte, and all the other participating companies will have the opportunity to show their films to Japanese buyers, whom they will then meet during the two-day market.
This year, for the first time, a French film market is also being organized in Seoul, South Korea, just prior to the Tokyo event, to allow exporters to visit both countries during a single trip. The Seoul market will take place from June 23 through 24, also preceded by a series of market screenings during the week beginning 15 June, with the cooperation of the Institut Français in Seoul. Sixteen French companies have registered for this first edition. Parallel to the market, Louane Emera will be present in Seoul to promote the release of The Bélier Family, and a premiere screening will be presented on June 24. Christophe Gans will also be present in Seoul for a series of master classes moderated by Korean director Bong Joon-Ho.
