Two new directors (Paola Malanga at the Festa del Cinema after the departure of Antonio Monda, and Gaia Tridente at the MIA after the departure of Lucia Milazzotto) present a new face to the multi-faceted Roman event: the Festa del Cinema, which will celebrate its 17th edition from October 13 through 23 and welcome the public, while the MIA Market (October 11 through 15) will host industry professionals. Two events where Unifrance will be present in the company of many exporters.
The Festa del Cinema is reintroducing its competition and will present 130 films in all, from October 13 through 23, on 28 screens across the city, including Nanni Moretti's Nuovo Sacher theater (which also hosts the Rendez-vous – Nuovo cinema francese, a French film festival co-organized by Unifrance, every April).
The competition will include in particular the French films Lockdown Tower by Guillaume Nicloux, Houria by Mounia Meddour, and Alam by Firas Khoury.
