Synopsis
In a gloomy Milan suburb, a woman of Sicilian origin is take away by the authorities, accused of prostituting her daughter Rosetta, aged eleven. Antonio, a young officer from Calabria, is given the task of escorting Rosetta and her little brother, Luciano, ten, to a religious home in Civitavecchia. But the two children are turned away. Antonio then has to take them to Sicily, to a specialised institution...
