Synopsis
Macao 1897. Aristocratic Portuguese families live in the Christian city. Life is easy there. Francisco Frontaria, a young playboy whom his family considers irresponsible, spends his time partying with a gang of friends. Portuguese high society in Macao is used to their escapades. During a silver wedding anniversary party thrown by one of the top families, Francisco makes fun of a young girl in the family, Victorina, and ends up calling her a Rbag of bonesS. A terrible scandal ensues. Victorina is deeply marked by it. After these events, Francisco takes on a bet that turns the whole city and also his best friends against him. Hounded out, beaten to within an inch of his life, he is ordered to never set foot inside the Christian city again. Cut off from his family and friends, Francisco gradually becomes a tramp...
