Stranger in the House
Synopsis
Jacques Loursat, a young, talented and charming provincial lawyer learns one morning in April 1982 that his wife, unable to put up with his permanent absences and multiple mistresses any longer, has committed suicide. Ten years later, Loursat's life has changed a lot. Few people call on his services. Locked away in his office, wracked by remorse, he lets himself be slowly destroyed by drink. Isabelle, his daughter, aged 21, hasn't spoken to him for years. One night, Loursat hears a shot fired in the house and discovers the body of a young man. He realises that his home has an intense secret life. On discovering the range of characters who surround his daughter, he has to call on his talents as a lawyer, but this time to defend the right cause and perhaps make a new start in life...
