Synopsis
Serge Laine (Patrick Dewaere), a notable critic and university professor, is on his way to buy train tickets for a trip with his wife when he first meets Carol (Clio Goldsmith), a sensuous siren who immediately whisks him away to a hotel bedroom. Serge is totally swept away with blind passion for this woman and soon abandons all responsibility for his marriage and career. He then allows himself to be lured into a shady and improbable scam that Carol and her supposed relatives are preparing. In the process, Serge is stripped of all reserve and integrity.
