The 59th edition of MIPTV took place at Cannes, at the Palais des Festivals, from April 4 to 6, 2022. After two digital editions, the market wass back in its physical format and welcomed television professionals from all over the world, around meetings, pitching sessions, and conferences analyzing industry trends.
The scope of works changed this year. In addition to fiction and animation, MIP Docs and MIP Formats were included in the market in its new format.
This new edition was also in line with the resumption of face-to-face markets, following MIPCOM, the first major market in the sector to offer a physical edition last fall. The event welcomed more than 4,500 professionals (including 1,200 buyers) and companies from more than 35 different countries at 145 stands, proving the enthusiasm of professionals for meeting in person.
Unifrance was present for the first time its new guise, and welcomed 49 member companies at its stand (R7.E2).
No less than 315 programs of all genres were presented to international buyers, and were available on the dedicated Screening Room.
