Complete filmography
BiographyWorking for some time with the Splendid group, François Berléand makes his debut in Martin et Léa by Alain Cavalier in 1978. Berléand then links up supporting roles in the 80’, appearing in successful comedies as Marche à l’ombre (1984).
Pierre Jolivet gives a second wind to his career by offering François Berléand more important parts in The Brother’s Return (2002), Irrésistible (2006) or My Little Business (1999). In the latest, his personification of a pathetic insurer wins him the Best Supporting Actor Cesar Award 2000. This prize is the reward of a prolific career composed with appearances in the most various films. In the 90’, François Berléand works with Bertrand Tavernier The Bait, Captain Conan, Jacques Audiard A Self Made Hero or Benoît Jacquot Seventh Heaven.
François Berléand excels in playing awkward and out of phase forty years olds as the “nice cop” in The Transporter (2000) and The Transporter II (2005), the confuse computer scientist in A Model Employee (2003).
2004 is a fruitful year and François Berléand stars in many films: Les Amateurs, Everybody Is A Killer, Cash Truck and The Choir, one of the major success of the year.
Comedy of Power adds Claude Chabrol to the long list of directors François Berléand has worked with. Charlie Says, will be his third collaboration with Nicole Garcia, a dramatic comedy where men openly speak.
