Director Justine Triet and actress Sandra Hüller talk about the film ‘Anatomy of a Fall’ (‘Anatomie d’une chute’) 👨‍👩‍👦🩸which is competing for the Palme d’Or at @festivaldecannes ✨

Sandra, a German writer, lives with her husband Samuel and their visually impaired son Daniel in a remote mountain chalet in the French Alps. When Samuel falls to his death in mysterious circumstances, the investigation cannot determine whether it’s suicide or foul play. Sandra is ultimately arrested for murder and the trial puts their tumultuous relationship and her ambiguous personality under the microscope. As her young son takes to the stand, doubt starts creeping in between them.

Cannes 2023 - Palme d'Or / "Anatomy of a Fall" : Meet Antoine Reinartz who talks about the movie

The story begins when Samuel is found dead in the snow outside the isolated chalet where he lived with his wife Sandra, a German writer, and their partially-sighted 11-year-old son Daniel. An investigation leads to a conclusion of "suspicious death": it's impossible to know for sure whether he took his own life or was killed. Sandra is indicted, and we follow her trial which pulls the couple's relationship apart. Daniel is caught in the middle: between the trial and their home life, doubts take their toll on the mother-son relationship.
