The opening of the 24th edition of the Rendez-Vous With French Cinema à New York, Thursday, February 28, in the presence of Serge Toubiana, president of UniFrance, writer Russell Banks, ambassador of this edition, and the French artistic delegation made up of Pierre Salvadori, Pio Marmaï, and Philippe Martin for The Trouble with You, Hélène Fillières, Sophie Fillières, Agathe Bonitzer, Emmanuel Mouret, Mikhaël Hers, and Eva Husson.
A full house of joyful spectators greets the American premiere of The Trouble with You, the opening night film presented with much emotion by its director Pierre Salvadori, who explains to the audience that his love of cinema stems from American movies (Howard Hawks, Ernst Lubitsch). He's followed by Pio Marmaï, who tells a story about a tattoo that went awry. Laughter fills the theater... and that's just for starters.
May the festival begin!
