Synopsis
Every year, thousands of Chinese come to Algeria to work on construction sites, living in isolated desert bases. Some die without being repatriated. Based on eyewitness accounts, rumors, and fake news, Marcel Mrejen constructs a dystopian parable about the endless (neo)colonial exploitation of Algerian territory.
