Synopsis
Since February 2022, 100.000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Berlin. Late December 2022, streets across the city recoil and reverberate to the sound of fireworks celebrating the arrival of the New Year. However, fireworks are also one of the worst triggers of trauma for people fleeing war. When a cracker explodes, it returns them to the conflict-zone. Through the documentation of political activism and private moments, the director invites us to explore the limits of empathy by asking a simple question: can one share another's tragedy?
