Biography

After the National Drama Academy, André Dussolier enters the Comedie-Française and makes his debut on screen the same year in Une belle fille comme moi (1972) by François Truffaut.
He then works with many of the directors of the Nouvelle Vague until he meets Alain Resnais on L’Amour à mort that sets the beginning of a fruitful cinematographic friendship.
In 1985, André Dussollier wins the audience’s credit thanks to Three Men and a Craddle by Coline Serreau.
Alain Resnais wins him his first nomination to the Best Actor Cesar Award with Melo, award he wins in 1997 with Same Old Song again by Alain Resnais.
André Dussollier’s career takes off in the middle of the 90’ and he then shows all his talents in comedies Ruby & Quentin or Tangy as well as with more darker roles, The Officer’s Ward or 36.
2005 testifies of André Dussolliers full talent as he stars in By the Pricking of My Thumb by Pascal Thomas and Lemming by Dominik Moll.
