The 66th BFI London Film Festival will take place from October 5 through 16. An impressive selection of French films will be featured in the many sections that make up the festival, directed by Tricia Tuttle, now in her fifth year in the role. Eighteen cinemas across the UK (including ten outside London) will screen this year's films.
Unifrance will be present at the BFI London Film Festival through its support allowing many artists to travel to the British capital, but also for the traditional "Buyers and Sellers" day (formerly "Meet the Buyers"), during which a large delegation of French exporters (Alpha Violet, Charades, Les Films du Losange, Luxbox, Memento International, Pyramide International, Indie Sales, Urban Sales, The Party Film Sales, Wide, Goodfellas, SND, Totem Films) will be able to meet British buyers within the framework of speed-meetings with a proven formula.
Among the artists expected to make the trip, at this stage we can mention: Mia Hansen-Løve, François Ozon, Alice Diop, Julie Ledru, Michel Ocelot, Alex Lutz, André Dussollier, Mikhaël Hers, Christophe Honoré, and Quentin Reynaud. (The list is subject to change.)
For the first time, a delegation of producers will also be present, as part of a joint operation by Unifrance, the Institut Français - United Kingdom and the British Film Institute. These twelve producers, selected after a call for applications, will be able to take advantage of two days of meetings with British producers, around pitching sessions by the latter, coproduction meetings, and informal networking possibilities.
The French producers attending: bathysphere, Beabia Films, CSE Productions, Films Grand Huit, FullDawa Films, June Films, KG Productions, Les Films d'Ici, Melocoton Films, Tita B Productions, Tripode Productions, and Wildcats Productions.
