BiographyDiscovered by photographer Helmut Newton at the age of 14, Amira Casar consequently moves to Paris. After working as a model she enters the Cours Florent before achieving her training at the National Drama Academy. In 1989, she makes her first appearance on screen in Erreur de jeunesse. The public discovers her in Would I Lie to You? that wins her a nomination for the Best Promising Actress César Award in 1997. She plays in provocative comedies such as Why Not Me? or Hypnotized and Hysterical (Hairstylist Wanted) as well as in directors’ more personal universes like Catherine Breillat or Anne Fontaine. In 2005, she stars in To Paint or Make Love by the Larrieu Brothers and Take a Break! by Bruno Herbulot. Amira Casar also manages a theatrical career in France as in England.
