Synopsis
Paris, 1835. As though to ward off the death throes of the era, the aristocracy engages in Dangerous Liaison-style games (half a century after the epistolary novel by Choderlos de Laclos was published), pretending to still believe that they're living in the Age of Enlightenment. The Marquise de Flers decides to marry off her young daughter, a jewel of the French aristocracy, to Ryno de Marigny, a kind of romantic Valmont. But what no one knows is that this inveterate Don Juan has been the lover and prey of a scandalous courtesan, a devilish seductress, the illegitimate daughter of a duchess and a toreador.
