Synopsis
Paul disappears suddenly, leaving behind him his wife, Eve, and monstrous debts. When the police opens an investigation, Eve receives the support of Mr. Chollet, a lawyer friend of her husband's, who helps her get back on her feet and buys up her debts. They become close, even too close, to the point that the police begin to get suspicious.
