Biography
Charles Gillibert founded CG Cinéma in 2013 after serving as a producer on the executive board of the mk2 group. In less than fifteen years, he has produced and co-produced around forty films that have received worldwide recognition (Golden Lion in Venice, Academy Award nominations, Best Director awards at the Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals, multiple César Awards, etc.).
He has supported some of the world’s most renowned filmmakers in their most ambitious projects, including Mia Hansen-Løve, Leos Carax, Alain Guiraudie, Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Bi Gan, Kirill Serebrennikov, Olivier Assayas, Abbas Kiarostami, Jim Jarmusch, Andrey Zvyagintsev or Alice Winocour. He also places particular importance on the emergence of young talents and new artistic expressions, as evidenced by the production of debut films by Kristen Stewart, Vincent Macaigne, Nicolas Maury, Anna Cazenave Cambet, Lola Quivoron or Lila Pinell. Each time, the same commitment prevails: to highlight filmmakers’ voices and to make an impact on audiences and the film industry worldwide.
In 2022, Charles Gillibert acquired the legendary studio Les Films du Losange, a distribution and international sales company founded during the French New Wave by filmmakers Éric Rohmer and Barbet Schroeder, and home to a rich catalogue of over 350 auteur films. In 2026, CG Cinéma and Les Films du Losange reorganized under the LOSANGE CINÉMA label, an independent studio active in film and series production, distribution, and international sales.
