    Biography

After following the teaching of the Cours Simon, Jean-Pierre Bacri first dedicated himself to writing.
In 1979, he gets his first role on screen in The Medic by Pierre Granier-Deferre, but Le Grand pardon by Alexandre Arcady in 1981 reveals him to the audience.
In 1986, Subway by Luc Besson wins him a nomination to the Best Supporting Actor César Award. From then on, Jean-Pierre Bacri links up main parts: Mort un dimanche de pluie, Downhill Summer or Mes meilleurs copains.
In the 80’, alongside Agnès Jaoui, Jean-Pierre Bacri is one of the most prolific French screenwriters and the two of them are at the origin of many French successes: Full House by XXX (1993), Smoking/No Smoking (1994) and The Same Old Song (1998) by Alain Resnais, Un air de famille by Cédric Klapisch (1997), or It Takes All Kinds (2001), all of them awarded with a Best Screenplay César award.
Jean-Pierre Bacri parades his grumpy but sympathetic character before the camera of Alain Chabat, Sam Karman or Claude Berri.
In 2004, Jean-Pierre Bacri stars in Noémie Lvovsky’s first feature, Feelings and will performed in Charlie Says… by Nicole Garcia in 2006.
