French films were in the spotlight at last weekend’s awards ceremony at the 15th Stockholm International Film Festival (November 18 through 28).
Of the 4 French feature films in the official competition, three titles picked up awards: “Innocence” by Lucile Hadzihalilovica won the Bronze Horse for Best Film as well as the award for Best Cinematography for Benoit Cebie. This is the first time that a female director has received the Best Film award at this festival. Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri were awarded the Best Screenplay award for “Like an Image,” and Abdellatif Kechiche was honored with an Honorable Mention.
The festival also handed out an armful of awards for French shorts, with “L’ Evangile du cochon créole” by Michelange Quay, produced by Les Films à 1 dollar, dubbed Best Short Film.
