The 37th edition of IDFA - International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, one of the world's most prestigious documentary film festivals and a leading co-production market, takes place this year from November 14 to 24 in the Dutch capital.
At the 37th edition, France continues to shine and maintain its strong presence with 42 productions and co-productions, including shorts, features, and immersive works, out of a total of 300 films presented. Eight completely new French documentaries will make their world premiere this year, including three in international competition.
This success is further proof of the vitality, connectedness, and great diversity of French documentaries on the international scene.
The festival's professional strand, which includes a co-production market, networking sessions, and presentations of projects in development, will take place from November 14 to 18, and will be an opportunity for industry professionals to explore new market trends.
As it does every year, Unifrance will be supporting French films and professionals throughout the festival, offering specific funding schemes to support the presence of French producers and directors, such as AIP (Aide Individuelle à la Promotion) promotional funding, travel grants in partnership with La Scam (grants reserved for directors), and the distribution of a communication medium inviting visitors to find all the French productions and co-productions selected for this year's IDFA, listed on the Unifrance website.
Unifrance will also be organizing a special networking event, with its traditional cocktail reception in partnership with La Scam and the Région Grand-Est, which will be held on Sunday November 17, 2024 and will bring together French teams, and French and foreign professionals.
A Unifrance delegation will be present in Amsterdam from November 15 to 18, 2024. For further information, please contact Johanna von Hessen : johanna.vonhessen@unifrance.org
