Synopsis
In the United States, the picturesque town of Etown serves as the microcosm for a profound ideological struggle within its school board.
The rise of white supremacy and Christian nationalism propels the ultraright faction's agenda to overhaul education. Their tactics include banning books, cancelling sports to avoid contact with LGBTQ+ students, and promoting homeschooling. Moderates, vying for influence, confront challenges in upholding diversity, democracy, and the sanctity of public education. As school board elections unfold, the town experiences a clash of cultures marked by conspiracy theories, armed confrontations, and a pervasive cultural war.
Against a backdrop of a deeply divided nation, Etown grapples with its identity and values, reflecting a larger nationwide ideological conflict set to unfold in the pivotal year of 2024.
