Biography
Victoria Verseau is a Swedish artist and filmmaker who explores themes such as the body, memory and identity, drawing inspiration from her experiences as a trans woman. Based on her own story, she examines broader existential questions: who we are, how we exist and who we want to be. She lives and works in Stockholm, where she obtained an MFA from the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in 2020. Victoria Verseau has presented solo exhibitions in Sweden and abroad, and her films have been screened worldwide. Her first feature film, Trans Memoria (2024), premiered in the Proxima competitive section dedicated to emerging directors at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2024.
