September 17 marks the start of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), considered Asia's most important film festival. Until September 26, France will shine in the South Korean seaside city, with more than 50 French films or co-productions on the program, including 18 majority-French features, accompanied by an artistic delegation.
This year, the BIFF will welcome several French artists who will travel to Busan with the support of Unifrance, first and foremost Juliette Binoche, to whom a Special Program in Focus has been dedicated, and who will be presenting her first documentary as a director, In-I in Motion.
We should also mention Valentine Cadic who will come to present That Summer in Paris, Nadia Melliti and Ji-min Park for The Little Sister, Julia Kowalski and Roxane Mesquida for Her Will Be Done, Déni Oumar Pitsaev for Imago, Sepideh Farsi for Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk, and Tamara Stepanyan for In the Land of Arto.
A dinner bringing together the French talents in attendance will be organized on September 20 by Unifrance, in collaboration with the Ambassade de France in South Korea.
Market
The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), the festival's market, will also take place in Busan from September 20 through 23. For the seventeenth year, Unifrance will share a stand with EFP - European Film Promotion in the Busan Exhibition Convention Centre (BEXCO).
12 French exporters will be present: Alpha Violet, Best Friend Forever (BFF), Charades, Ginger & Fed, Indie Sales, Kinology, Losange Films, mk2 films, Paradise City Sales, Pulsar Content, Reel Suspects, The Party Film Sales
