Director Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville) tells us how he brought to life A Magnificent Life (Marcel et Monsieur Pagnol), a tender animated portrait of the legendary French writer and filmmaker Marcel Pagnol, adapted from Pagnol’s own autobiographical reflections.

Premiered at Cannes 2025 and now selected in Official Competition at Annecy, the film blends memory and imagination as an aging Pagnol revisits his past, guided by the child he once was.

Featuring the voice of Laurent Lafitte as Marcel Pagnol.
