Around twenty French artists are expected to attend the German French Film Week, an anniversary edition that will take place from November 20 to 26 in the German capital and in nearly thirty cities across the country.
French Film Week is an initiative of the Institut Français - Germany and Unifrance. It is supported by numerous partners, including Yorck-Kinogruppe, Cinéfête, OFAJ, Förderverein, DS Automobiles, Dorint Hotels, ARTE, Air France, Vision Kino, Délégation générale Wallonie-Bruxelles, Québec Antenne Berlin, Bouvet Ladubay, Champagne Pommery, and Sacem/Copie privée.
From November 20 to 26, German audiences will be invited to discover the best of French cinema through a selection of films that will be showing in German theaters in the coming months.
The program will be available to view simultaneously in many German cities. Berlin, of course, but also Aachen, Augsburg, Bayreuth, Bremen, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Erlangen, Essen, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Fürth, Halle, Hamburg, Hanover, Kiel, Magdeburg, Mannheim, Mettmann, Munich, Ratingen, Rostock, Saarbrücken, St. Ingbert, Weimar, and Würzburg.
The 31 films in the 2025 edition, most of which have been screened at major international festivals, reflect the diversity and vitality of French-language film production, with its wide range of genres and themes.
The Stranger, in the presence of its director François Ozon, will open this edition in Berlin. The film will be released in Germany on January 1, 2026, distributed by Weltkino Filmverleih.
Once Upon My Mother will be presented at the closing ceremony, in the presence of actress Leïla Bekhti. The film will be released in Germany on November 27, distributed by Neue Visionen Filmverleih
