In Southern Cameroon, a man makes his way through the jungle and along the muddy riverbanks, looking for an animal yet to be listed in the annals of zoology: the Mokele-Mbembe. The Pygmies the explorer meets during his expeditions describe this animal as a kind of rinoceros with a crocodile tail and a snake's head. Some claim to have already encountered it beside the river. Is it a mythological animal or a real one? The explorer has been long convinced that the animal exists. He leads us on a dogged search to find the animal's traces or accounts of its existence in a world where truth mingles with legend, taking us to the heart of fiction.
