Biography

After studies in medicine, Laurent Bénégui took to writing. To date, he has published three novels: ''Caramelle'' (1989), ''Au petit Marguery'' (1991) and ''Le Roman des Quarks'' (1995). In parallel, he has written numerous screenplays: ''Le Bruit de la Terre qui tremble'' by André Téchiné (1990), ''Rainbow pour Rimbaud'' by Jean Teulé (1993), ''Les Braqueuses'' by Jean-Paul Salomé (1994) and ''Romaine'' by Agnès Obadia (1996)... From writing for the screen, he moved on to directing, making his first feature ''Un type bien'' in 1991 followed by ''Au petit Marguery'' in 1995. ''Mauvais Genre'' is his third feature.
