Synopsis
Before the story begins there are two kids, Rick and Samir : a friendship that survives the trials of life and the finality of death. During a night-time chase, Rick dies. Samir is left alone with he guilt of surviving his friend... Elsewhere and later... the characters enter the stage without knowing that their lives will be overturned by this shattered friendship...

Unifrance : "Why did you turn to directing after the succes of "Wild Reeds" ?"
Gaël Morel : ""Wild Reeds" was an accident. I never really meant to be an actor. I've always wanted to direct movies. In fact I had already made a short film., "La Vie à rebours"."
Unifrance : "You have been criticized for your portrayal of life in the low-rent suburbs..."
Gaël Morel : "People don't realize that the suburbs of French provincial cities are nothing like the way they're portrayed in the movies these days. The actors I chose helped me to steer clear of the "suburb movie" caricature because that's not what the film is about. It's about a young guy who wants to be a writer and his relationships with others people his age."
Unifrance : "How did you finance your movie ?"
Gaël Morel : "My producer had mine typed up for me after he read the handwritten script ! But then I had already directed a short film with Magouric Productions, and Laurent Bénégui helped me to raise the money. I had the "advance on box office" grant as well."
Unifrance : "Are you satisfied with the result ?"
Gaël Morel : "I'm mostly satisfied with some of the scenes which were inspired by personal details. What I like about the movie are its accent on sincerity and its rejection of conventional wisdom."
