Biography

Olivier Dahan was born in 1967. In 1987, he began studying at the Marseille School of Art and obtained his post-graduate arts diploma in 1991. Before taking up film directing, he exhibited his paintings in a number of one-man and group shows, made numerous music videos (for, amongst others, Zucchero, Stéphane Eicher, Princesse Erika) and worked for several record companies (Virgin, EMI, Sony, Polygram…) Between 1986 and 1993, he wrote and directed short fictions films ("La Petite ville," "Fête foraine," "Mansfielo pizza," "Pleine lune à 4," "La Grande ville" and "La Racaille"), which were selected for various film festivals, and a film for the Arte channel entitled "Brothers," which was selected for the Berlin Film Festival in 1995. In 1998, his first feature film, "Déja Mort," was released in theaters. Dahan is currently preparing his new film "Le Petit Poucet," adapted from the Charles Perrault tale. He plans to shoot "Hometown," a documentary series of portraits of American musicians.
