For its 23rd edition, taking place in Copenhagen from March 11 to 22, 2026, CPH:DOX will welcome a large French delegation. With 25 works selected this year, French documentary filmmaking confirms its prominent place in this leading international festival—a presence reinforced by the attendance of numerous French professionals, demonstrating the industry's growing interest in this key event.
Unifrance will support French films and professionals throughout the festival through its usual programs: travel grants for filmmakers with La Scam and AIP to encourage producers to take part in CPH:INDUSTRY, the event's professional section. This will be an opportunity for them to build and strengthen their international networks.
In this context, Unifrance is partnering with the EUROPE! On Demand project, a joint initiative of CPH:DOX and European Film Promotion (EFP). Conceived as a showcase for buyers, distributors, and festival programmers from the United States, this initiative highlights a selection of six to seven European films from the festival's program, chosen for their strong potential on the American market. France will be represented by The Cord, a feature film by Nolwenn Hervé, enjoying its world premiere in the DOX:AWARD competition.
At the CPH:FORUM, Unifrance, TitraFilm, and CPH:DOX will again recognize a promising French documentary project in development with the Unifrance Doc Award. The winning film will receive subtitling assistance from TitraFilm, while its (French) production company will receive a one-year Unifrance membership in the feature film producers' college. The award will be presented at a ceremony scheduled for Thursday, March 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Unifrance Doc Award jury members are:
- Caroline Behar, Director of International Co-productions and Documentary Acquisitions at France Télévisions
- Emma Simpson, film director at Journeyman Pictures
- Stina Gardell, founder of Mantaray Film, producer and director
