Unifrance once again joins forces with Visions du Réel, a key documentary festival on the international scene, to highlight French productions and the diversity and creativity of French documentary works.
The festival, which will be held from April 21 through 30 in Nyon (Switzerland), will present 31 French productions and co-productions, 18 of which are world premieres. Nine films (shorts and features) will be supported by Unifrance.
Unifrance, in partnership with La Scam (Société Civile des Auteurs Multimédia) has bolstered its support mechansims this year to assist more directors in the promotion of their films internationally. This initiative is taken within the framework of the Année du Documentaire (Year of the Documentary).
In the Industry section of Visions du Réel, there will be a strong French presence with five projects in development co-produced by France. A jury will designate a Unifrance Doc Award in partnership with TitraFilm, consisting of subtitling funding and a Unifrance membership for the production company.
Unifrance has also planned a networking event by organizing a French Docs Drink in partnership with the Ambassade de France in Switzerland on April 24, to celebrate the French presence at Visions du Réel as well as the Année du Documentaire.
Unifrance will be at Visions du Réel from April 24 through 27.
