With its 25th anniversary year coming up next year, Quebec's Cinémania Festival celebrates French and French-language cinema once again this year. The event's 24th edition will take place from November 1 to 11, 2018, in the presence of around thirty festival guests.
As has been the case each November since 1995, Cinemania, Canada's biggest event dedicated to French and French-language cinema, will offer Montreal audiences an outstanding program, with the 2018 selection including around 70 films, of which 33 titles will be presented in North American premieres (in Canada or Quebec), screened with English subtitles.
Around a dozen French actors and directors will travel to Quebec to take part in the event, with Olivier Gourmet, this year's guest of honor, presenting One Nation, One King, The Royal Exchange, the Belgian-Swiss co-production Ceux qui travaillent, and Edmond as the festival's closing film.
A special screening will introduce Montreal audiences to the first two episodes of Season 3 of Call My Agent (Dix pour cent), held in the presence of the series' producer Dominique Besnehard.
Among the thirty-odd festival guests will be Élodie Bouchez, Édouard Baer, Mathieu Kassovitz (whose Dialogue with the Public is already sold out), Vincent Macaigne, Laurent Lafitte, Gilles Lellouche, Samuel Jouy, Guillaume Senez, Eva Husson, Romain Gavras, Emmanuel Mouret, and Thomas Solivérès
The festival also features a Focus on Swiss Films, as well as the exhibitions Femmes de Cinéma and Gaumont: Ever Since the Birth of Cinema, meetings with the journalists Laurent Weil and Patrick Fabre, and a contest to win a trip to Normandy!
