In her film Langue étrangère, Claire Burger explores teenage desire and political awakening.
The film follows Fanny, a 17-year-old French student on a language exchange in Leipzig. Eager to impress her confident German host Lena, Fanny starts to fabricate a new version of herself—until the lies begin to catch up.
