The 15th edition of Series Mania will take place in Lille from March 21 to 28, 2025. On this occasion, the public will be invited to discover a rich selection of 48 series, including 40 yet to be released, from some 20 countries, including 22 French series.
The Series Mania Forum, the festival's industry component, will take place from March 25 to 27, welcoming some 4,200 professionals from over 70 countries on five continents. In this context, Unifrance will be organizing the tenth Coming Next from France on Tuesday, March 25, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, and will be present at both the Forum and the festival to promote the quality of French scripted creation.
Figures from the study conducted by the CNC and Unifrance on French audiovisual exports in 2023 revealed a high level for French scripted drama, with sales of €74.5 million, well above the average for the last ten years (€54.9 million). It remains the leading export genre for the second year running, accounting for 36.6% of total sales.
Unifrance will present five new French series during Coming Next from France
Coming Next from France will highlight five French series available or soon to be available on the international market to foreign decision-makers, buyers, and journalists. This operation will be a unique opportunity for distributors, producers, and artists, to boost the visibility of their programs internationally.
The five series presented in 2025:
- Kitchen Hustle, distributed by France tv distribution
- Fake, distributed by Have A Good One
- Don't know, distributed by Mediawan Rights
- Montmartre, distributed by Newen Connect
- Jailbreakers, distributed by Oble
These five series testify to the diversity, innovation, and expertise of French scripted works. They offer a wide range of writing styles, universes, aesthetics, and genres (action, drama, history, detective, romance, thriller, societal, young adult...), and feature both established actors and promising new faces. Each of these works delivers singular and innovative stories, and offers a rich and pertinent reflection of French society, past and present.
Unifrance at the Series Mania Forum
Unifrance will once again partner with the Series Mania Forum to host the Welcome Drinks on March 24, the opening cocktail of the professional meetings, attended by a predominantly international crowd.
The organization will also offer its members a space to host their meetings in the Business Lounge.
French creations well represented in the festival program
In 2025, French creations are very well represented in the program, with 22 French works in all sections of the festival: Opening and Closing, International Competition, Panorama, French Competition, Short Form Competition, Special Screenings, including Documentary Series.
The festival's main juries will include many of the faces of French cinema and broadcasting. Actress Karin Viard and composer Victor Le Masne will sit on the International Competition jury. Author Lola Lafon will chair the Panorama jury, which will also include actress Marie Colomb. Actress and singer Camélia Jordana will chair the Short Formats jury, which will also comprise actor and director Julien Gaspar-Oliveri.
Unifrance will be on hand at the festival to promote this fine French presence and meet the artistic teams behind the selected series: actors, screenwriters, directors, showrunners...
