BiographyDiane Kurys starts her carrier as actress, acting in plays and belonging especially to the Renaud-Barrault Company.
In 1976, she gets her first cinema part in Casanova de Fellini by Federico Fellini.
The next year, she gets her first experience as director with Diabolo menthe, an almost autobiographical story speaking about the adolescence, a movie of which she also writes the screenplay. Then, this movie achieves a huge public success and wins the Louis Delluc Prize. Then, Diane Kurys is interested by hippie young adults with Cocktail Molotov, talks about the unusual friendship between two women in the 50’s with Coup de foudre and directs a torn family during holidays with La Baule-les-Pins in 1990.
Then, Diane Kurys directs several movies about turbulent loving relations with Après l'amour in 1992, A la folie in 1994 and Les Enfants du siècle in 1999 with Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel embodying respectively George Sand and Alfred de Musset. After that, she returns to the comedy with Je reste ! in 2003 with Sophie Marceau and Charles Berling.
