The Festival de Cinema Francês do Brasil (formerly the Festival Varilux de Cinema Francês) is one of the largest cultural events dedicated to French cinema in Latin America. Starting in Rio de Janeiro, the festival will travel to more than 50 cities across the country between November 27 and December 10, offering a selection of recent films, restored classics, and encounters.
The Richest Woman In the World will open the event, in the présence of Isabelle Huppert, spearheading an artistic delegation featuring eight artists, including Pierre Richard, to whom a tribute will be paid on December 2 (in São Paulo) and December 4 (in Rio) with the screening of the comedy classic Knock on Wood / The Goat, and his latest film as a director, The Man Who Saw the Bear.

Other French artists in attendance (subject to change): Valérie Donzelli for At Work, Bastien Bouillon for At Work and Leave One Day, Jean-Claude Barny for Fanon, Salif Cissé and Fabienne Godet for Guess Who Is Calling?, and Victor Rodenbach for Stages of Love.
Free school screenings have been organized simultaneously across the country around Maya Give Me a Title, in movie theaters, cultural centers, schools, and film clubs.
For the third year, five virtual reality works will be screened free of charge in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo during the festival dates.
From November 24 to 28, the festival will offer (for the eighth year) the Franco-Brazilian Screenplay Laboratory. Aimed at screenwriters, directors, and producers, it allows participants to develop their writing projects (feature films and series), with the goal of supporting authors in their writing and guiding them, by helping them to hone their originality and strengthen their storytelling.
