The French Collection is a new French film festival organized by Unifrance that will be inaugurated in London on July 1. This three-day event hosted in association with the Everyman network of cinemas aims to appeal to the network's young audiences who are eager to discover French films.
Film screenings will be held at the Hampstead (photo) and Screen on the Green cinemas, two upmarket venues that are fitted out with bars, sofas, and two-person seating pods. They will be accompanied by a range of events, including panel discussions, concerts, meetings with audiences, and French wine and cheese tastings. The festival will also place the focus on a program of French short films grouped around the theme of Music and Cinema.
The following films will be showcased at the event, with some titles presented in British preview screenings:
- Mon roi by Maïwenn
- Lolo by Julie Delpy
- Arrête ton cinéma ! by Diane Kurys
- Summertime by Catherine Corsini
- Thanks Boss by François Ruffin
- Tomorrow by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent
Diane Kurys, Cyril Dion, Mélanie Laurent and Sylvie Testud have already confirmed their presence at this first edition of the festival.
