The program for this year's festival—the first physical event to be organized by UniFrance in 2021—features twelve recent French films, accompanied by an artistic delegation (actors and directors) who will introduce their films and take part in discussions with audiences.
A screening of My Donkey, My Lover & I will open the festival on Wednesday, June 9, in the presence of the film's director Caroline Vignal as well as Danielle Arbid, along with France's Ambassador to Italy, Christian Masset, and UniFrance president Serge Toubiana.
Emmanuelle Béart, who will be present for the screening of Margaux Hartmann, will also introduce audiences to a special screening of A Heart in Winter by Claude Sautet.
The delegation will include Emmanuelle Béart, Caroline Vignal, Danielle Arbid, Jean-Paul Salomé, Ludovic Bergery, Nicolas Maury, and Yahya Mahayni.
Following the event in Rome, the film selection will be broadcast in Turin and Bologna.
For all practical information about the event, please visit the Institut Français Italia website.
In compliance with the health regulations currently in place in Italy, the Rendez-Vous event will respect the required 50% of seating capacity in theaters, curfew restrictions, and a ban on the sale of food and drinks.
With even more French films available to Italian audiences!
To coincide with the 11th Rendez-Vous with New French Cinema in Rome, UniFrance is also offering, in partnership with the Italian VOD platform CHILI, a selection of films featuring the French artists from the titles screened at this year's festival. Films starring Isabelle Huppert, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Laure Calamy, and Benjamin Lavernhe, among others, will be available for audiences to discover (or rediscover) on Chili from June 9 through 13!
