Synopsis
At the beginning of the 2019 school year, Alain Duthel, head teacher of a vocational high school class in Paris, is intrigued by the strange behaviour of one of his students, Pauline Mukamba, originally from Congo. He meets her older sister, Francette, who reveals to him the young girl’s difficult past: he then decides to do everything he can to help her. Alain is involved in an organization helping migrants where he gives French lessons, run by his friend Ingrid. He suggests to Pauline to take advantage of this; there she met Farouk, a young Syrian who learned French with Alain. But he himself soon loses his wife and then his daughter because of the Covid-19 epidemic. It is by guiding Pauline and her classmates to the Baccalaureate that he will get back on his feet.
