Synopsis

Professor Nicole Brenez (Sorbonne) and acclaimed filmmaker Philippe Grandrieux (Sombre) have initiated a video series portraying great, heroic but little-known figures of political avant-garde film. The series, titled It May Be That Beauty has Strengthened Our Resolve, kicks off with Grandrieux’s essay on Japan’s militant artist, Masao Adachi. Australian premiere.
