Synopsis
"Dream of seeing somewhere else... to better look at one's own back yard."
With Jon, a reindeer farmer in the land of Santa Claus, we discover an amazing nomadic world: traditional and modern lives rub shoulders, seraching for a balance.
In the sumptuous Scandinavian mountains of Sarek, to the rhythm of the seasonal migration of stock to summer pastures, we share with him the best and also the worst, like the day that the lake ice cracks beneath the hooves of thousands of reindeer, drowning a part of the herd.
Beyond the exoticism of a life in natural surroundings, Jon's warm and deep voice describes this desire for a balance between technological progress and age-old knowledge: a subject whose meaning and humility also calls to us.
Corto Fajai, seduced by this apparent alchemy, wonders about the fragility of this way of life, its paradoxes, along with its rewards. Would a possible response to environmental disorders be to renew contact with our own horizons?
