Funny Felix

A Feature film by Olivier Ducastel, Jacques Martineau

Produced by Les Films Pelléas

Release in France : 19/04/2000

    Synopsis

Felix lives in Dieppe with Daniel.
A combination of circumstances allows him to carry out a longstanding plan: go to Marseille and meet the father he's never known.
But Felix is a little bit romantic and rather than go by railroad, he'll go by foot or thumbing rides. The beauty of blossoming spring and charms of chance encounters on the road quickly distract him from his path.
He'd set out to meet his real father, but along the way he creates an ideal family: a little brother, grandmother, cousin, sister…

    Subject

“Funny Felix” at the Yokohama festival: coming back to Yokohama a second time really changes things. Not only are you familiar with the ceremony surrounding the screenings, but you see some of the same critics and even spectators. It’s moving and surprising when people hand us photos of the presentation of “Jeanne” in 1998, it’s flattering when Japanese critics ask questions about the development of our career, about the connection between our two films, and our plans for the future. A long way from Paris, yet movie buffs know and are interested in what we’re doing. Thanks to the festival, Japan is no longer a foreign land to us.
