The International Film Festival Rotterdam, one of the most important international festivals dedicated to auteur and research cinema, will place from January 25 through February 4, in the presence of a fine French delegation including Bertrand Bonello, Anne Fontaine, and Ramata Toulaye-Sy.
A dozen French talents will be accompanying their films at 2024 Rotterdam Film Festival, which will also see Daniel Mann 's feature-length documentary Under a Blue Sun, produced by Acqua alta, compete in the Tiger Competition section.
The French delegates are Ramata-Toulaye Sy (Banel & Adama), Bertrand Bonello (The Beast), Anne Fontaine, Raphaël Personnaz and Philippe Carcassonne (Bolero), Jérémie Périn (Mars Express), Kaouther Ben Hania and Nadim Cheikhrouha (Four Daughters), Pierre Carles and Annie-Madeleine Gonzalez (The Farc Guerrilla, a History of the Future), Daniel Mann (Under a Blue Sun), Julien Maury, Alexandre Bustillo, Paul Hamy and Virginie Ledoyen (The Soul Eater), as well as the filmmakers of short films Valentin Noujaïm, Quentin L’Helgoualc’h, Vivian Ostrovsky, Simon Rieth, ENSI, and Alice Saey.
Unifrance is organizing a dinner on January 27 upon invitation.
Unifrance is also participating in the Rotterdam Lab program by sending a delegation of two French producers: Jules Reinartz for Les films grand huit and Sophie Roudaut for Le Grand Saut Productions.They will take part in workshops on film industry innovation, international co-production and post-production, sales, financing, and project development.
